This is a project I completed for my AD503 Enterprise Risk Management class as part of my Master's degree at Boston University. It is a case study of a real-world tech company called Huawei, which is based in Shenzhen, China and is best known for its smartphones and network infrastructure.

I worked with three other students to pool our resources and build a spoken presentation that would explain what event constituted a new normal for Huawei, how it responded, and if it emerged better or worse as a result of the new event. While the presentation was entirely collaborative, each individual student was expected to write their own paper.

The biggest challenge I found with this project was the need to pack a lot of complicated information into a concise and easily understood form. Huawei's history and corporate structure is deeply intertwined with the history and culture of the People's Republic of China, so it was no small task to navigate the nuances and complexities inherent to events that befell the company. I also needed to dig to find resources that would discuss Huawei, as the company has only recently lifted its ironclad secrecy about how it operates to the West.
